So close!!!!!!!!!!

As planned, I did another run this afternoon...

Distance: 2.4km
Time: 14 minutes, 4 seconds
Stops: 1 (swapped to power walk for 20 seconds)

I feel really tired after about 1km - I can keep going, but my strides shorten and I don't feel I have the energy to pick up the pace for an extended period. Hopefully the more I run the easier it will get and my time will just wittle away...

Fit again!

Back in July I scored 6.5 on the beep test, and then I slackened off to the point where I hadn't run for over a month!! Anyway, I did the beep test again this morning and got 6.5 again!!!!!!!!! Wooh! This time I could have kept going, and I probably could have at least reached 7.0, but I stopped myself. I feel pretty damn happy about it!

Meanwhile, I'll be going for a longer run this afternoon to keep my endurance running up.

Me? Play football??

I was lucky enough to be asked by The Boy's work to fill in for their mixed touch football team - they were short a few girls for this big competition. Now, I hate football. I don't understand the game, I have only been to one football game in my life and I have absolutely no idea about the rules. But I said yes (something that I was regretting at 8 o'clock this morning).

We rocked up and I got educated about the rules of football so that I knew enough to actually play the game without looking like a fool, and was then thrown into the deep end! We ended up playing 4 games and to my surprise I actually ended up enjoying myself! I didn't score any tries, but I did what I was told and by the end of it I knew (sort of) what I was doing! It reminded me of how much I enjoyed playing team sports when I was younger, and now I want to start playing again! I don't care what it is - I'll even join a touch footy comp!

Oh, I guess I should mention that we won 1 and lost 3. Oh well. No injuries, so that makes up for a lot!

Getting fitter...!


I went for a run on Sunday: Distance: 2.4km
Time: 17 minutes
No. of stops: 3
HR at finish: 160bpm

Today I decided to time my run again and ended up beating my time by 2 minutes!
Distance: 2.4km
Time: 15 minutes
No. of stops: 1 (+ one 10 second stop to drink from the bubbler)
HR at finish: 120bpm

I am finding that my breathing is a lot easier when I am running and my legs don't hurt at all! So now I just need to work on my speed!

Mood: Relaxed



Meanwhile, I went for a run again today... I ran 2.4km in 17 minutes (stopped 3 times for ~5 min total). It's an accomplishment seeing as I had stopped exercising for about 5 weeks! It felt really good, and hopefully I'll be able to build on that to run even further/faster. I also bought a skipping rope today!!! I haven't done skipping since I was a little kid so it was a rather funny experience!! At least I'll be able to do some cardio work on the balcony when it's dark!!
